When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. So, if you are a programmer, we don't blame you for adopting a Heck, why not approach. If you don't want the consultant and the customer key users (or whoever will be populating the import files) to spend too much time warping their brains and filling the dimensions import worksheets the consultant way, go and program a solution that would solve the problem in a no-brainer way.

There are definitely several ways in which we could do this, and if you are technically inclined, you can use the guidelines we are proposing to write your own solution. If you really want this solution but don't want to program it, you should take a look on the downloads section of www.teachmenav.com to see if we created one for you; at the very least, you will find a detailed explanation of how this can be done.

The zip file contains the modifications we made to the data migration tool to allow dimensions. I've been using this for a while and have made some additional improvements. Once I've extracted the improvements, I'll upload an update here.

Hi David, I am trying to use your super tool for uploading dimensions for table 81 but I am getting an error that it is not a master table.  Any plans to update the tool so I can load dimensions with journals?  Many thanks!  Kimberly
